Year About Youth - Bringing the Community Together for Rochester’s Young People

Time is flying by! Can you believe it's already the end of March? Just like the rapid pace of time, C2C's work is gaining momentum, especially after Rochester Mayor Kim Norton's State of the City address. In January, Mayor Norton dedicated 2025 to youth and education, officially naming it the Year About Youth (Y.A.Y!). We're proud to align with Mayor Norton and the city's initiatives to improve outcomes for all students in our community. I look forward to sharing more about this partnership throughout the year.

The mayor’s call to action was that organizations throughout Rochester do at least one great thing in 2025 for the children in Rochester. This aligns perfectly with Cradle 2 Career because our entire focus is to do great things for the children in Rochester by transforming the way partners work together. In the coming year, we will be bringing the fourth Annual Education Summit to the community where youth serving professionals and volunteers have an opportunity to connect, learn, plan, and grow. In addition, we will continue to work with the mayor and other key partners as we focus on the childcare needs of our community.

As we continue through this Year About Youth, I'm energized by the collaborative spirit across our networks and the meaningful progress we're making together. Each step forward brings us closer to our shared vision of success for all Rochester youth. I invite you to reach out if you'd like to get involved with any of these initiatives or simply learn more about our work. Together, we're not just talking about creating positive change for our young people—we're actively building it. Stay tuned for more updates as our Y.A.Y! journey continues!
